Black Legend, Black, Oregon: Black Artists at the Capitol .. A Performance Installation

Black Legend, Black, Oregon explores the lore and living legend of Black presence in Oregon. Since 2013, artist Intisar Abioto has photographed people of African descent in Portland and Oregon for an ongoing exploratory photo endeavor titled The Black Portlanders. This exhibit features images of artists, elders, poets, historians, luminaries, and beloved community members. It also includes photographs from travels around the State of Oregon for the Urban League of Portland’s State of Black Oregon 2015 publication.
